# 11 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

I'm sure almost every girl spent last Tuesday night watching the 2011 Victoria's Secret fashion show. I know I did and I loved every second of it! I think it is one of the most entertaining fashion shows because it's so glamorous and all about the beautiful Victoria's Secret Angels having fun. The models looked gorgeous, the music was great, and the costumes were wonderful!! My favorite Angel by far is Adriana Lima <333

My favorite part of the fashion was when Maroon 5 performed Moves Like Jagger on the runway.  Not only do I love the song, but I am in love with Adam Levine!! I loved seeing him and his girl friend Ann Vyalitsyna on the runway together. They were so cute and I almost melted when he kissed her cheek. Check out the performance:

#10 Fashion Video Final: Fall Exteriors

My group and I created this fashion video that displays the outerwear trends for this fall.  We used the theme fall exteriors to relate the city exterior theme to a women's clothing exterior.  We worked together to spot street fashions and take photographs.

#9 New Fashion Show Formats

Designers are continuing to wow us by finding new innovative and creative ways to present their fashion shows.  By adding more theatrics or by using a different setting, designers keep coming up with new ways to attract attention to their fashion lines.

My favorite out of these videos is definitely Louis Vuitton.  I just think it's such a creative idea and it's very different then normal fashion shows.

#8 Video Lookbook

Lookbooks are great for designers to show off their fashions. It also gives them a way to attract a customer base, while showing them how to pair their outfits. I like this lookbook video because fashions in it. I also like this video because of the beachy setting.  I think the dark drab beach gives the video a special ambiance.



#7 Trunk Shows

Trunk shows are becoming extremely popular.  It's a great way for vendors to present their merchandise to store personnel or select customers.  This allows people to be able to purchase and preview the collections before it is made available to the public.

A trunk show I would love to go to is Jovani.  I love their evening dresses and I think it would be so fun to see their collection up close.  If I had a special occasion to go to I would definitely wear one of their dresses. Here is some information on their next trunk shows.

#6 Fashion Video

Viktor & Rolf Runway Show - Paris Fashion Week Spring 2012

I love Viktor and Rolf's runway shows.  I think they are both geniuses and are extremely creative.  They both are very detail oriented, which is displayed in all their runway shows.  Everything is very theatrical, which is what I love about it.  I love this particular show because it starts with the two girls standing tall and singing, then their dresses open up to reveal the runway show.  I love the colors used in this collection as well.  There's a lot of black and pink and those are two of my favorite color combonations.

#5 2012 Fall Colors

One of the most important parts of fashion is color.  Every season we see new colors flashing down the runways.  It's imperative for every fashionista to stay up to date on the color trends.  That's why I am going to share the fall 2012 color trends with you!

Warm Palette

For fall 2012 there has been a tremendous use of warm colors that are inspired by the '70s.  We see colors like red, fuchsia, maroon, raisin, pumpkin, orange, tangerine, and mustard. Pure red has become one of the most used colors of this season, while different tones of orange are becoming popular as well. My favorite out of these colors is the raisin. For me, nothing screams fall more than that!!    

Cool Palette

The cool colors this season are still holding on to last seasons cobalt blue, while ink is increasingly being used as both base and fashion colors. We are seeing a lot of different shades of blues.  The colors for fall 2012 are chartreuse, O.D, Emerald, Periwinkle, Petrol, Cobalt, Ink, and Purple. My favorite color out of the cool tones is emerald.  I love the way it pops and I'll be sure to be using it in my wardrobe!!

#4 NY FASHION

As I walk the streets of New York I am constantly noticing people wearing all the different fall trends for this year.  Everyone is looking great and inspiring me to spice up  my wardrobe!

1)      Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are everywhere! They’re the perfect item for fall.  Not only is it stylish, but it keeps you warm as the weather starts to get colder.  The most common color I’ve seen is obviously black, but I’ve also seen people wearing red and tan leather jackets.  This piece of clothing is the perfect way to add edginess to any outfit!

2)      Tights

Tights are a perfect accessory to any outfit this fall.  They can dress up an outfit or add a funky style to it, depending on what tights you wear.  I’ve seen so many people walking the streets in New York wearing tights.  The best part is they come in all different colors too, so they’re fun to wear.  It’s also perfect for fall because they help keep your legs warm in the cold.

3)      Sheer

I am loving anything sheer right now. From sheer tops to sheer skirts, I feel anything sheer is a must have item this fall.  Everyone around FIT is sporting the sheer look.  Its fun, it’s edgy, and it looks great. I am a huge fan!

4)      Scarves

Obviously a classic fall accessory is the scarf.  Everywhere I look I see more and more people wearing them as the weather gets colder.  Scarves are fun because they can spice up any outfit by adding color or a fun print.  My favorite scarves right now are the ones that the girl below is wearing!

#3 New York Times Blog

I read the fashion review "It’s Easy to See It Raf Simons’s Way" by Cathy Horyn.  She wrote about Raf Simon's new Jil Sander collection for Spring 2012.  After viewing his collection, fashion editors have been praising Simon's collection, saying that he deserves a Paris house. It's amazing how much he has learned in the past five years and all that he has extracted from Jil's universe.

The article continues to talk about and describe his new collection.  Cathy Horyn uses different descriptive words to talk about the fashion.  She expresses everything in great details, so the readers can picture the clothing and get a better idea of what she is talking about. She describes the prints by using words like fresh, lightened-up, and paisley.  She talks about the different fabrics and describes their colors and materials used such as white, blue, navy, gingham, cotton, and stretch.  Horyn talks about a jacket and describes it as snappy, then mentions the matching slim pants. The jackets are then described as lightweight, with a half lining of stiffened organza and an interior tie, which creates a contoured silhouette.  All these words describe the color, the fabric, the look, and the fit of the clothing. 

#2 Fall Trend

Sheer is Here!

My must have item for this fall is anything SHEER. From sheer tops to sheer skirts to sheer bell bottoms to sheer maxi dresses, sheer is everywhere. This look can be worn dressed up or dressed down, depending on how you interpret it.
